Eharmony Dating Site Review
Eharmony is geared toward the more serious daters and focuses on matching up life long partners. You won’t find a quick “hook-up”. The users are primarily looking for long term commitment or marriage and are willing to pay the higher than average membership fee to get it.
Ease of Use
Getting started with the website was very straight forward. After typing in some information everything was set to go. If you’re not a patient person the 100+ questionnaire that takes 30-40 minutes will press your boundaries. eHarmony is not a site for open marriages or recently separated but still married people. With that said, the pitfall of this site is if you are not single, you will sit through the 40 questions and find out afterward that you cannot use the site. So if you’re not patient and legally married, this ones not for you. Unfortunately that wasn’t the worst of it. If you accidentally click the wrong status there didn’t seem to be a way to go back and edit it once you have submitted your final answer for the questionnaire. After a thorough search through the help section and trying to log in, there was no way to change it without submitting an email or calling customer support and access to the account had been suspended.
Who uses this site?
While you do have to be single to use the site, meaning in no way legally married, eHarmony had a more serious feel to it. It was as though you had to be fully committed to finding a life partner, not just a casual dater. There are sub-sites for every sexual preference, as well as international branches. Eharmony prides itself on being a step above the rest and filtering out all the bad matches for you with its in depth profiling system and members-only stance which means only serious and compatible singles remain.
Compatibility System
The compatibility system’s backbone is a very lengthy questionnaire that gauges you in many different areas in order to create an extremely detailed personality profile for you and what you’re looking for. What you will get in return is a much smaller list of matches than most sites. The trade off is these matches are tailored to fit your extensive personality profile. These are ideal matches for you and the general reviews from those that have used it are very positive. The price you pay to use the site is for this feature undoubtedly as it was a very positive experience.
Search System
The search system is not anything over average but it still exists. You can use it, but it will not turn out the same results as the sites match making system. EHarmony has placed all of its efforts into the personality profiling system. Searching will allow you to browse member profiles but lacks the benefits of
Prices
EHarmony is expensive, and there is no way around it. Because of their success and the amount of work put into matching singles together it’s hard to argue. A single month membership will cost you $59.95 per month, while a year subscription will run $239.40, or $19.95 a month for 12 months. It’s very pricey, but the success of the site for those serious about dating seems to match the cost.
